UK: Trafalgar Square hotel relaunches after renovations
The Trafalgar St. James has reopened following an extensive renovation and remodelling project.
The visionary behind St. James’s new look was London + Regional’s Creative Director, Mario Nicolaou, who appointed two specialist design partners to bring the idea to life. London-based SHH Architecture & Interior Design oversaw development of the Rooftop space and room design. For the food and drink destinations, leading design firm AvroKO reimagined the New York restaurant experience for the London scene.
‘The Rooftop’ features a retractable canopy that overhangs a large and stylish space with a lounge eatery that offers Asian inspired small plates; and a private glasshouse, ROOM, which is available to hire for events with seating for up to 14 people.
‘The Trafalgar Dining Rooms’, the hotel’s all-day restaurant and grill, offers Mediterranean dishes with a London twist. There’s an extensive range of cocktails and ‘tea-tale’ drinks, which have been created in partnership with English tea producer Tregothnan.
‘Biblio’, the hotel’s lower ground floor living room, is conceptualised as a private members club in a setting open to all. The private lounge will host intimate events, including live performances by up-and-coming musicians.
The hotel houses 131 rooms, with 15 suites (including 3 suites named after artists who designed landmarks in Trafalgar Square).
