UK: A former Georgian mansion which is now a 12-bedroom boutique hotel is on the market for £800,000.

Burythorpe House in Rydedale, Yorkshire, was opened in 2008 by England cricket legend Ian Botham after a £1 million refurbishment. Its owners, Real Yorkshire Pubs Ltd, have put it up for sale with a freehold price tag of £800,000, along with the nearby Bay Horse Inn, which has an asking price of £400,000.

The 18th century country house includes a 35-seat restaurant and is set in 1.4 acres of Wolds parkland. Facilities include a detached leisure complex with a swimming pool, sauna, gym and tennis court.

Alastair Jack, associate director at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, which is handling the sale, said: “It’s very rare to have two such well-appointed and attractive properties come onto the market and we believe there is the real prospect of further developing each business under the control of a hands-on owner operator.”
