UK: The group’s first central London hotel in Clerkenwell will officially open on 1 August 2020, and marks the the first new hotel to open in the city since lockdown.

The property will feature 212 cabins, each equipped with signature YOTEL features such as the adjustable SmartBed, rain showers, Smart TVs, multiple charging ports and high-speed WiFi.

Cabin sizes range from one, two and three-bed, as well as bunks and a VIP Suite.

Guests can check-in using the YOTEL App and download a Smart Key for a low-touch cabin entry. Self-serviced kiosks are available to check in and out whilst team members are on hand to assist.

At the heart of the hotel is Komyuniti, an all-day restaurant and bar serving up street food bar snacks and larger plates. The split-level area seats 120 guests and features booths, sofas, and social tables housed under a glass atrium.

Guillermo Gomez, general manager of YOTEL London, said: “Every detail of our hotel has been designed to reflect those who want to make the most of their time and money without compromising on a comfortable and modern hotel experience. Our convenient location means easy access in and out of the city as well as offering the opportunity to live like a Londoner and enjoy the neighbourhood as the locals do.”

Additional amenities at the hotel include two meeting spaces equipped with AV technology and a 24/7 gym.

Hubert Viriot, YOTEL CEO, commented: “We are so pleased to be bringing YOTEL back home to where it all began. London has a special place in our hearts as our first ever hotels opened here in both Heathrow and Gatwick back in 2007. Our headquarters are also based in London, it’s been fantastic to be so close to this project and see it all come to life. Clerkenwell is such a vibrant and creative area and I hope our guests enjoy exploring everything that it has to offer as much as we do.”

The opening follows the launch of YOTEL Edinburgh and YOTEL Amsterdam last year.

YOTEL has introduced its #SmartStay at each hotel worldwide – a package of safety measures and resources in response to the current climate.
