US: Hyatt’s latest brand, Caption by Hyatt, will launch with a property in Memphis, Tennessee this summer.
Caption by Hyatt Beale Street Memphis is an upscale select-service hotel designed by HBG Design. It forms part of the Wm. C Ellis & Sons Ironworks and Machine Shop, with a new build 136-room tower rising above.
At the centre of the hotel is Talk shop, the brand’s mixed-use lobby space. It serves as a welcome area as well as an all-day lounge and workspace, coffee shop, grab-and-go marketplace and cocktail bar.
In collaboration with Union Square Hospitality Group, Talk Shop showcases menus featuring locally sourced ingredients. It will also include a patio area and beer garden with fire pits.
Room keys will be made available in Apple Wallet, allowing World of Hyatt members to tap their iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock guests rooms and key card-protected common areas such as gyms, pools and elevators.

We’re thrilled to see the first Caption by Hyatt hotel come to life on vibrant Beale Street in Memphis.”
Set to be located in urban and downtown markets, including mixed-use developments, upcoming Caption by Hyatt properties include Shanghai (early 2023), Osaka (2024), Tokyo (2025) and Saigon (2025).
