UK: The University of Surrey’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and analytics specialist SnapShot will lead a two-day course on hotel revenue management.
The course, focused on pricing, marketing and distribution, will take place on September 21st and 22nd, at the university’s campus in Guildford, Surrey.
It will be conducted by Sylvia Ganbert, teaching fellow at the University of Surrey; and Janel Clark, head of consultancy and education at SnapShot; both experts in revenue management.
The course has been developed to suit those who have had little exposure to revenue management previously, but have an interest in understanding the role of a revenue manager in a hotel. It is meant as a foundation course, perhaps for those who are looking for a move into revenue management, or to be able to contribute more to this function in an existing role.
The course aims to introduce a collaborative approach to demand management, focused on:
• The evolution of revenue management;
• Market segmentation;
• Distribution/transaction costs;
• Pricing, demand and value;
• Inventory control;
• Hotel investment decisions – market analysis;
• KPIs and benchmarking;
Dr Stefan Tweraser, CEO of SnapShot, said: “Sylvia and Janel are perfectly placed to provide sound teaching, demonstrating first-hand experience and an understanding of current challenges and developments in the area of revenue management.”
Participants who book prior to August 23rd, 2016, receive a 10 per cent discount on course fees. The early-bird price is £585, compared to the full price of £650. Prices include course fee, course materials, and lunch, networking drinks reception, reading material and parking permits where available.
