India: Hospitality conglomerate Kishore Hospitality Group has renovated and converted a villa into a boutique hotel in Dalhousie in the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
The founder of Elgin Hall, Kavish Khurana, intends to preserve the Victorian era heritage of the property, which originally housed British officials during the summer months in the 1850s.
Elgin Hall features seven rooms complete with unique designs, while retaining their own distinct identities, in terms of soft pastel colours on the walls, furniture and accessories from the Victorian era. The details on each of the furnishings have been meticulously planned out through the restoration process to provide comfort to the guest, fuel nostalgia, and preserve the aesthetics and heritage of the property.
F&B is also a significant component of Elgin Hall’s offering to guests, which includes providing a curated culinary experience that blends and fuses North Indian, Asian and various international cuisines. The hotel has its own tearoom that serves a selection of teas to mirror a British afternoon tea experience, while Elgin Hall also teams up with local chefs to use their global culinary expertise and support local businesses at the same time.
