UK: Ed Fitch has been appointed as head of hospitality for the UK and Ireland at global real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.
In the new role, Fitch will be responsible for supporting Cushman & Wakefield’s hospitality clients across the company’s core service lines, which includes capital markets, development and investor services.
He will also retain leadership for hospitality capital markets in the Benelux region, where Cushman & Wakefield has several active sales ongoing or due to launch.
With over 20 years of experience in the hotel investor sector, Fitch has worked in roles across Europe and Asia spanning strategic advisory, valuation and brokerage.
Fitch said: “I’m extremely proud to be asked to lead a team with such incredible depth of experience. Our understanding of past cycles is a key strength that enables us to deliver the best advice to our clients and I am excited at the prospects for the UK market if, as we expect, transaction activity reinvigorates in the second half of the year.”
Jonathan Hubbard, head of EMEA hospitality at Cushman & Wakefield, added: “The UK & Ireland is the most liquid hotel market in Europe and is a key focus for the continued growth of our EMEA Hospitality Group. Ed’s extensive experience in international markets, together with his experience across multiple service lines makes him the ideal candidate to lead the team. He is extremely well respected amongst clients and colleagues, and I look forward to him building on the successes of the team in recent years.”
