Dyal takes over as GM of Santa Barbara’s Canary Hotel

US: Caroline Dyal has been appointed as GM of Kimpton’s 98-room Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara.

Dyal brings more than a decade of experience in hospitality management with her and has previously worked at Hotel Palomar Los Angeles, Viceroy Santa Monica, Chamberlain West Hollywood, Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills and, most recently, Kimpton’s Hotel La Jolla, where she oversaw the seaside hotel’s 110 guestroom operations, led business development initiatives, employee training and guest relations, while also facilitating the hotel’s extensive renovation and rebranding.

She replaces Laura McIver who has moved to El Encanto in Santa Barbara

Kimpton bought the Canary in March for $40 million from Edward Thomas Hospitality Corp, owner of Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica
