France: Hospitality group Evok Collection has appointed Alessandro Caristo as the general manager of Nolinski Venezia, which is due to open in summer this year.
Caristo has almost 35 years of experience working across four and five star hotels. Following his diploma from the hotel school of Stresa and Milan, Caristo began his career in London before moving to Switzerland and then Italy.
After more than a decade working across front office, F&B and sales, Caristo went on to obtain a master’s degree in tourism economics and management from the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice.
Following this, Caristo took on management roles in hotels such as the Belmond Hotel Cipriani in Venice, before joining Evok. His first plan of action is to recruit 140 employees ahead of the opening of Nolinksi Venezia.
Nolinski Venezia will be housed in the former Commodities Exchange building in Venice and will include 43 rooms and suites, the fine-dining Palais Royal Restaurant, a terrace cafe, library bar, and an Ottoman-inspired spa with a pool offering views of the city.
The upcoming opening marks the first destination outside of France for Evok Collection. The current portfolio includes four properties in Paris: Nolinski, Brach, Sinner, and Cour des Vosges.
