Harry Murray leaves Lucknam Park

Harry Murray

UK: Chairman of Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa, Harry Murray, has stepped down from his role following 25 years of service.

31 December 2021 marked Murray’s final day in the role. He was first appointed managing director in 1997 and has since helped to develop the property from AA Four Black Stars to AA Five Red Stars with a Michelin Star restaurant and award-winning spa. Murray became chairman of Lucknam Park in 2010.

He will now focus on mentoring and helping to coach the next generation of hospitality leaders. Murray will remain in his position as president of HOSPA (Hospitality Professionals Association) and will continue being an ambassador and patron of Hospitality Action, Springboard, Be Inclusive Hospitality, Institute of Hospitality, and the Hoteliers Guild.

Murray said: “My time at Lucknam Park has been an enjoyable and memorable journey and any success I have achieved both personally and at the hotel is due to the full support of the owners, directors, and a highly motivated and skilled team. I depart with a feeling of great pride as the hotel was recently named UK’s Best Hotel in Conde Nast 2021 Readers Choice Award. I wish the owners, directors and the team continued success.”

Over his five decade career thus far, Murray has managed luxury international hotels and has been recognised with numerous awards. These include an MBE for services to the hospitality industry, AA Lifetime Achievement Award, an Honorary MBA at The University of West London, and more.

Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa is a member of Relais & Chateaux and Pride of Britain. The hotel comprises 42 bedrooms and suites with six deluxe cottages. Two more cottages are planned to open this year.
