Thompson Hotels appoints sales director in Austin

US: Serena McCabe has been appointed as area director of sales and marketing for the soon to open Thompson Austin and tommie Austin.

McCabe brings more than 15 years of sales experience to the role, with a specialty in boutique and independent hotels. 

Prior to Thompson and tommie Austin, McCabe was based at Thompson Seattle – the brand’s first property in the Pacific Northwest. Before joining Thompson, she worked for 12 years at various locations including director of group sales at the Carmel Valley Ranch in California.

Thompson Austin is slated to open this autumn 2021. It features 212 guest rooms and suites, as well as 17 residences. Amenities include an all day dining restaurant and bar  with alfresco poolside terrace dining, billiards room, an infinity pool and wellness centre, over 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, as well as a street-level culinary experience.

Expected to open this autumn, tommie Austin comprises 193 rooms and offers guests contactless check-in kiosks and mobile guest room entry. The all-day coffee shop and wine bar acts as an alternative to the traditional hotel lobby.
