Indonesia: The Alila Jakarta hotel has announced the appointments of executive chef Tom Drange and director of sales Hotmida Petra Sari.
Drange, a 43-year old Norwegian national, brings over 20 years of cooking experience with postings throughout the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle-east, including a recent spell at the Torch hotel in Doha.
He will head Alila‘s four food and beverage outlets and executive lounge. “The plan is not to steer too far from its current and successful gastronomic formula by offering fresh, quality ingredients with cooking approach that’s uncomplicated and balanced, yet creative and with a few surprises of my own,” said Drange.
Hotmida Petra Sari has eight years in hotel sales and brand positioning with companies including Marriott, Hilton and Sheraton hotels. “Joining the team is a thrill for me as I have forever admired the property for its abstract-minimalist interiors and functional office space, fabulous spa and restaurants, and location,” said the Jakarta native.
