UK: Design agency Pearlfisher has created the new brand identity for the Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall, including naming, signage, stationery and communication materials.

Pearlfisher says the hotel’s existing identity was comprised of “layers of naming making it confusing and was not truly reflective of the offer: a complete relaxing, rejuvenating and reinvigorating ocean experience. The brief was to create a more cohesive brand identity and rationalise how the hierarchy should work and be communicated throughout the hotel and its collection of environments – Dining, Sleeping, Living…”

Sarah Butler, Pearlfisher deputy creative director said: “Watergate Bay Hotel offers guests a unique ocean experience but prides itself on its relaxed and friendly approach. The new identity needed to connect people directly to the experience of the destination and its elements. The logotype has been drawn by hand. This gives a personal touch to the logo that is core to the brand values: raw, energetic, elemental, imperfect and unique – and reflective of the north Cornish coastline.”

Pearlfisher has also designed the packaging, identity, naming and tone of voice for Another Place, a range of handmade hotel amenities exclusive to Watergate Bay Hotel.

“Ceramic style bottles with aluminum caps and silk screened graphics in bold contemporary colours recreate the fresh skin invigoration and the sense of active relaxation that comes from being in the great British outdoors. The graphic circle device with concentric circles brings to life the aroma of the ingredients within,” said Butler.
