Spain: The Hoxton is opening a location in Barcelona’s neighbourhood of El Poblenou on April 25th.
Meaning “little village” in Catalan, El Poblenou was selected as the brand’s first location in Spain due to its close proximity to tourist sites and the sea.
In recent years, urban regeneration project 22@ District has been converting the neighbourhood’s original mills and factories into artist studios, design showrooms, craft breweries, restaurants and art schools.
The hotel will have 240 rooms, a rooftop bar and taqueria Tope, a balcony and pool offering views of Sagrada Familia, and Four Corners, a ground-floor pizza restaurant with access to a terrace, slice shop and bodega.
Three meeting and event spaces comprise The Apartment, and La Cave is a multifunctional basement space that will host community events.
When open, The Hoxton Barcelona will mark the eleventh hotel for the brand.
Locations currently include London (Shoreditch, Holborn and Southwark), Paris, Amsterdam, Rome (opened May 2021), New York, Portland, Chicago and Downtown LA.
Each hotel embraces the The Hoxton’s community outreach initiative, Good Neighbours, which supports those in need through fundraising and volunteering.
