UK: Me and Mrs Jones, a boutique hotel in Portstewart, is set to reopen.
The property, which closed just seven months after it initially opened in 2012, is set to relaunch this week.
The 20-bed hotel and wine bar will reopen as the Irish Open golf starts, with the world’s top golfers arriving in the area, including Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Padraig Harrington, and Darren Clarke.
The Coleraine Chronicle reports that the hotel’s new proprietor is Mary McCloy. The hotel confirmed it would be opening this week and posted a series of teasers on its social media pages over the weekend.
Local councillor Norman Hillis said: “It is incomprehensible as far as I’m concerned that it’s been closed since 2012. It was a great location and I think the whole content and the rooms were first class. It’ll be a considerable asset to our tourism on the North Coast.”
