US: Family operated property Ocean Park Inn reopened to local customers this last week.
The property, situated in the heart of Pacific Beach, opened to local visitors on the 12th of June, after reimagining its full array of guest rooms.
The new rooms and common areas were envisioned by LA bespoke interior design firm Clear on Black. The group hoped to pair a mid-century meets the beach aesthetic with accents working in tribute to the hotel’s original tiki-style designs.
Elvin Lai, CEO & President, said: “The reopening of San Diego hotels to leisure guests and the completion of the first phase of our re-imagination couldn’t have come at a better time. Our new guest rooms are the perfect place to relax and cure cabin fever for locals and they’re a great oceanfront getaway for singles and families planning summer road trips.”
The full scope of the renovation will open in fall of this year, which includes a full redesign of the lobby and the building’s exterior façade to complement the mid century aesthetic of the interior. It will also include new pool facilities which will be unveiled at the end of the month.
The hotel is introducing new cleaning services and hotel protocols in order to keep guests safe in the wake of COVID-19. It is also offering a package targeted at staycationers known as the “cabin fever cure,” which features 20 per cent off stays and flexible cancellation on bookings made through 30 June.
As the world starts to reopen many new hotels are launching. Ruby Hotels announced their third London location this week, and a luxury chocolate-themed boutique hotel was announced in Girona, Spain as well.
