UK: Global real estate advisor CBRE is marketing the Park Hotel Kenmare and The Lansdowne Kenmare in Ireland for a combined guide price of €20.5 million.
Both hotels are located in the town of Kenmare. They are being offered for sale individually or together by Private Treaty.
Park Hotel Kenmare is a five-star luxury hotel and member of Relais & Châteaux. It features 41 rooms and suites, five dining venues, a spa and pool, an infinity pool and a private cinema. The hotel also sits adjacent to the 18-hole Kenmare Golf Club.
In recent years, the hotel has received more than €3 million in capital investment, including the refurbishment of all bedrooms and corridors and renovations to the ground floor public areas and kitchen.
The Lansdowne Kenmare is a 28-bedroom boutique hotel located in the centre of Kenmare. It was originally built in 1790 as a residence for the second Earl of Shelbourne and is reportedly one of the oldest buildings in town.
The hotel underwent refurbishment in 2021 which resulted in a four-star hotel accreditation and an invitation to join Small Luxury Hotels of the World. It offers a range of food and beverage choices across five venues.
John Brennan and Francis Brennan, owners of the Park Hotel Kenmare and The Lansdowne Kenmare, said: “After 43 years at the helm of the Park Hotel Kenmare we have taken the decision to exit on a high and place the hotel together with its sister property, The Lansdowne Kenmare, on the market.
“As you can imagine it was not an easy or quick decision to make. The Park has enjoyed a wonderful life making many people’s stay with us memorable and while only in its infancy, The Lansdowne Kenmare, is following in its footsteps. Nothing is forever and while we have invested heavily in recent years to ensure both properties are pristine, we feel the time is right to take some time to ourselves, to pursue other interests and business opportunities.”
Paul Collins, executive director, head of hotels Ireland, CBRE, said: “We are honoured to be appointed to sell these two hotel gems. Purchasers have the opportunity to acquire the two hotels as a single lot and benefit from the economies of scale, or they can be purchased individually. The hotels are trading exceptionally well and there is the potential for further development adjacent to both properties, subject to obtaining planning permission.”
