Australia: The Salamanca Wharf Hotel in Hobart has opened its doors to guests.
Built between two 1840 sandstone warehouses, the hotel has 22 apartments comprising four loft penthouses, 15 one-bedroom apartments and three studio apartments.
Owner and general manager Shane Pritchard said: “Discerning travellers who value a premium location and luxury finishes will receive a first class hotel experience with every attention to detail catering for their supreme comfort, whilst delivering an unparalleled ambience befitting this unique location. Entering one of our apartments is like being invited into the beautiful and comfortable sanctuary of an adventurous friend. Massive floor-to- ceiling window doors in each room can be thrown open to let in the famous Tasmanian air and we’ve stocked our fully-equipped kitchens with the best Tasmanian wine, beers, cheese and chocolate”.
The decor and colour schemes pay homage to Tasmania’s location as the key international gateway to Antarctica, with photography by Antarctic adventurer Laurent Dick showcased throughout the hotel rooms.
The hotel’s ground floor is home to Castray Esplanade Food + Wine, owned by “well-known Tasmanian foodies” Michael Roberts and Karen Goodwin Roberts, author of Tasmania’s Picnics in Paradise.
