Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa appoints operations manager

Ashley Torr

UK: Kaleidoscope Collection, which owns the Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa in Bath, has appointed Ashley Torr as the property’s operations manager.

Torr marks the first of several senior hires as Kaleidoscope plans to refurbish the Georgian country house. The property was purchased earlier this summer off a guide price of £5.5 million.

Bringing over 10 years worth of experience to the role, Torr has worked alongside hoteliers Richard Ball and Paul Sadler as well as Michelin star chef Richard Davies within numerous four-star hotels.

Speaking about his new position, Torr said: “It’s a privilege to be joining Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa. I have watched the team from afar for many years and have always been in awe of the incredible journeys they take their venues on to create something unique, eccentric, and luxurious.

“This is a very exciting next step in my career,” he continued. “The plans for Bishopstrow are immense and I look forward to being able to work creatively with the team to transform the hotel into something amazing. I look forward to evolving my learning and building upon my current skill sets with [the team] and their decades of fantastic industry experience.”

Jonathan Walker, managing director and co-investor of Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa, added: “Ashley’s experience is second to none, as is his passion for the industry. You can see that hospitality flows through him and that his practices prior to Bishopstrow have grown him into an incredibly efficient and effective operations manager. I look forward to seeing what Ashley brings to the team and how his knowledge will mould and shape the future of Bishopstrow.”
