Design Hotels names VP global brand leader

Sarah Doyle

Worldwide: Sarah Doyle has been appointed vice president, global brand leader at Design Hotels, overseeing more than 300 properties.

Doyle joins most recently from Bacardi, Europe where she served as vice president of marketing. Prior to this, she held senior positions at MSC Cruises and spent four yeas at W Hotels Worldwide working as the group’s global brand director.

In her new role, Doyle will support the Design Hotels team headquartered in Berlin and will report to the company’s managing director, Jenni Benzaquen.

Speaking about her appointment, Doyle said: “Throughout my career, Design Hotels has been a brand that I have admired and that has continuously caught my eye with its design-forward hotels and steadfast commitment to leading the travel industry into the future.

“I am delighted to join such a creative, passionate, and curious team, and am enjoying connecting with our global community of visionary hotel owners. I look forward to working in partnership with our Originals to bring our beautiful properties into focus and contribute to the bright future of the company.”

Each property within the portfolio reflects an Original – an individual, aesthetic or service-driven experience that distinguishes the hotel.

Claus Sendlinger founded Design Hotels in 1993. In 2017, the company launched Further, a travelling laboratory that transforms hotels across the globe into pop-up hubs, bringing together artists, writers, scientists, farmers, designers and more for site-specific gatherings in support of research and conversation.

In 2019, the group joined forces with Marriott Bonvoy, enabling its members to join the latter’s loyalty program.
