Emeline announces new F+B team

US: Charleston’s newest hotel has announced the core members of its food and beverage team.

The hotel already announced its management team in December, in anticipation of its doors opening in May.

The new hires will be Kara Czaplicki, serving as general manager of restaurant and bar operations, and Tim Morton, serving as executive chef. The two both have exceptional backgrounds in the hospitality industry, with wide arrays of experience in the industry.

Czaplicki has been working in hospitality for 23 years, since she started taking on fine dining and bartending work to support her studies. Her ballet background has given her a mind towards artful choreography during service, which she has used to create a strong experience for the hotel’s restaurant.

Morton has a storied career across American restaurants, most notably serving as chef tournant at Chicago’s modernist restaurant Alinea. He intends to take his focus on seasonal cuisine and regional southern cooking to the full programme.

The programme’s announced inclusions are a coffee shop and restaurant, named Clerks Coffee Company and Frannie & The Fox respectively. The restaurant will reflect the chef’s approach through small plates and approachable dishes.

Morton is previewing his offerings at the Charleston Wine + Food Festival’s Night Bazaar and at the Culinary Village later this week.
