UK: James Williamson has joined chartered surveyors and property consultants Graham + Sibbald as director of its hotel and leisure team.
Williamson brings more than 25 years of working in the hotel property sector to his new role. He began his career with Forte Hotel Group in the property department before transferring to a consultancy role following the sale of the group.
Based in Graham + Sibbald’s London office, Williamson will work alongside Martin Davis and Hugh Anderson who were also recently appointed within the hotel and leisure division.
“I am excited to be joining Graham + Sibbald to focus, alongside Hugh and Martin, on the continuing growth of the firm’s hotel transactional and valuation business across the UK while supporting the firm’s ambitious growth plans in the commercial property sector,” said Williamson.
Les McAndrew, senior partner at Graham + Sibbald, added: “This is a very exciting time for the business as we continue our expansion across England and whilst the hotel/leisure market is currently facing a number of significant challenges, this appointment demonstrates our commitment to the sector, with team coverage from Brighton in the south to the Shetland Islands in the north of the United Kingdom. We believe that there will be some considerable opportunities in the medium to long term which we intend to take full advantage of, the team is growing at a good pace, and we anticipate that there is much more to come.”
In addition to its valuation services within the hotel and leisure agency, Graham + Sibbald also provides support and advice in the following areas: building surveying, quantity surveying, project management, project monitoring, planning, architectural services, carbon and sustainability, rating assessments, lease consultancy, business rates, commercial agency, land and development, and a range of asset services.
