Ian Schrager Company appoints CMO

US: Chelsea Olson has been named as the group’s chief marketing officer, working on both PUBLIC and EDITION branded properties.

Olson joins Ian Schrager Company (ISC) with over 10 years of experience in hospitality and marketing, spanning media, editorial relations, communications and branding.

She oversaw all marketing at EDITION Hotel’s flagship property in Miami for four years as part of the opening team. Olson has since worked on openings in Barcelona, New York’s Clocktower and Times Square.

Having left EDITION in 2018, Olson began her own marketing consultancy service for projects in the lifestyle hospitality sector. She also contributed to Miami-based publications including DiningOut Magazine and Miami New Times.

Commenting on her appointment, Ian Schrager, founder and chairman of ISC, said: “It is very difficult to find a marketing person who is smart, has leadership qualities, hardworking, and most importantly, understands and gets the unique way we market things and our pursuit of excellence and originality. Chelsea is a rare breed. We are lucky to have her.”

Ian Schrager Company owns, develops, manages and brands hotels, residential and mixed-use projects. Under the PUBLIC Hotels brand, the company is currently working on multiple hotels in New York City and two luxury residential projects. In the EDITION portfolio, a partnership with Marriott International, there’s 11 hotels with a further 18 properties set to open in 2021 worldwide.
