US: Hospitality and retail operator Makeready has appointed Tiffany Alves as director of global group sales.

Alves joins the company from The Beekman in New York City, bringing more than 14 years of experience to the role. 

Writing on LinkedIn, Alves said: “So honoured to be part of this phenomenal team!”.

Brian Jones, SVP of sales, marketing and revenue at Makeready, said: “Tiffany has a ‘wow’ record for surpassing sales goals and nurturing client relationships. We’re excited to have her bring that dedication and passion to our team.”

In the past year, Makeready has introduced Habitat which offers team members professional development opportunities as well as events throughout the year. 

Makeready operates independent hotels, restaurants and retail shops throughout the US. Venues include Noelle, Keep Shop, Hidden Bar and Makeready L&L (Nashville); The Alida and Rhett (Savannah); The Adolphus and Commerce Goods + Supply (Dallas); Emeline, Frannie & The Fox and Hank’s Seafood restaurant (Charleston), among others.

The hotels’ retail shops offer a curated product line from regional artisans and maker, as well as other goods relevant to the hotel brand.

Headquartered in Dallas, the company has made other senior appointments in the last week. Carly Skinner has been named general manager of Emeline, and Javier Hernandez executive chef at The Alida.
