UK: OakNorth Bank has announced the appointment of Rajesh Gupta as their new CFO.
Gupta’s previous role was as CFO of Kensington Mortgages, where he had spent five years overseeing finance during a period of company growth.
Before Kensington, Gupta spent 21 years at General Electric, primarily working in banking and capital. He held multiple CFO positions within their national banking organisations, and was named head of financial planning for the EMEA region.
Gupta said: “I’ve been following OakNorth’s Bank’s incredible growth story for the last few years, so am excited to now be a part of it and be joining at such a seminal moment for both the company and the country. In a relatively short time, OakNorth Bank has grown into what is arguably the most successful new bank in the UK and the fastest-growing businesses in Europe.”
He is taking over from Cristina Alba Ochoa, who is moving to Barcelona to be nearer to family. She will remain CFO until Rajesh takes over, and will stay with the bank in a different role.
OakNorth Bank, which launched in 2015, has seen performance metrics placing it in the top one per cent of banks in the developed world. With pre-tax profits rising 95 per cent to £65.9m, OakNorth hopes that its new CFO will be able to maintain this track record through the COVID-19 period and beyond.
