Hong Kong: Ovolo Group’s Girish Jhunjhnuwala has won the Owner Operator Award at the 2012 DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards.
The founder and CEO of boutique hotel and serviced apartment operator was honoured at an awards ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
The Owner Operator Award “recognizes Mr Jhunjhnuwala’s outstanding managerial contribution to the financial success and harmonious operation of Ovolo Group. Throughout the years, he has provided an environment that empowers and nurtures leadership skills in company members. He has also demonstrated the ability to take calculated risks in proactively adapting to changing market dynamics in the Hong Kong hospitality sector”.
Jhunjhnuwala founded Ovolo Group in 2002 “with the aim to revolutionise the Hong Kong hospitality market by providing accommodation with attractive well- spaced interiors and all-inclusive services that cater fully to guests’ needs. Along the way, he has transformed Ovolo from being a solely local serviced-apartment operator into an international hotel and serviced-apartment group to capitalise on the APAC region’s growing appetite for travel”.
Ovolo has a portfolio of eight properties in Hong Kong and Australia, and plans further expansion.
