UK: Raithwaite, in Whitby, North Yorkshire, has appointed Alejandro Torrecilla as its general manager.
Joining the business in June 2015, Torrecilla steps in to his new role from his previous position as hotel manager.
Torrecilla has held roles at Blakes Hotel, The Cadogan and 11 Cadogan Gardens in London.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to step up to the position of general manager. I can’t wait for the challenge that this new role will bring, and I look forward to many more years working at the Raithwaite.”
Penny Brown, managing director for Inntelligence, the management company in charge of day-to-day operations at Raithwaite since 2017, said: “We are absolutely delighted to appoint Alejandro as general manager. We’re lucky to have Alejandro and his huge wealth of hospitality experience. His promotion is testament to his character, strength, sincerity and honesty – something which we value at Raithwaite.”
Set in 100 acres of coastline moorland, Raithwaite is comprised of a 45-bedroom hotel in The Hall and a further 28 rooms in The Keep, as well as eight self-catering cottages, The Fold, and the exclusive six-bedroom Lake House.
Dining venues include The Brasserie, serving French cuisine combined with Yorkshire food; Poachers Bar, serving coffee, lunch and evening drinks; and a traditional afternoon tea is served in the Conservatory.
The spa features a pool, four treatment rooms, a relaxation room, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, as well as a gym.
