UK: Jamieson Berriman joins The Relais Cooden Beach as general manager ahead of the property’s opening this autumn.
Berriman bring over 30 years of hotel management experience to the role, having most recently served as hotel general manager at Horsted Place in Uckfield.
Previous to this, Berriman held the position of general manager at Best Western Lansdowne Hotel on Eastbourne seafront, spent 13 years at the The Grand Hotel Eastbourne, and also worked at the Bannatyne Spa Hotel in East Sussex.
Speaking about his appointment, Berriman said: “I’m excited to be joining the Relais Retreats family as the brand grows and leading the team as we prepare for this milestone hotel transformation. I’m looking forward to immersing myself in the history and heritage of this stretch of the East Sussex coastline and meeting guests past and present who will form a part of the property’s exciting new chapter.”

Relais Retreats is new brand founded by Leo and her partner, Tim Hartoll. The first site Relais Henley, along the River Thames, opened last summer.
The Relais Cooden Beach is currently undergoing a renovation, transforming all public areas including the beachfront restaurant, bar, function rooms and 45 guest rooms. It is expected to be completed in autumn 2022 with the wellness spa following towards the end of this year.
