UK: The Spanish proptech developer and rental marketplace Spotahome appointed a new CFO yesterday.
Alan Burns, former CFO of Photobox group, completes Spotahome’s C-Suite leadership team in anticipation of global expansion.
Burns was hired due to his experience in high growth internation e-commerce businesses, having led both sales and acquisitions in the past. He is also noted for experience at expedia and hotels.com, working through periods of migration to e-commerce, transformation experience Spotahome seeks to bring to its own business.
Spotahome CEO Alejandro Artacho said: “Alan’s wide-ranging experience will support our strong Spotahome leadership team and Board in the evolution of Spotahome’s business model and development of its growth trajectory, as well as providing the highest quality of financial leadership, governance and control.”
This is the latest in Spotahome’s targeted hiring of new executives following its $40 million funding injection from venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins. Burns has brought with him two essential hires, taking Mani Dhillon, from Moonpig and Amazon, to serve as financial controller, as well as David Anderson, who will join as Director of Commercial Finance in March.
Other executives hired include former Amazon, Uber and HelloFresh senior team members, who bring with them key digital market experience.
Burns stated: “Spotahome is carving a place in a market that needs reinvention in order to meet consumer expectations of simple, secure and trustworthy online transactions. I’m excited and hugely delighted to be joining a talented and experienced team of e-commerce leaders as we reinvent online real estate.”
