Italy: Starhotels, the first Italian private hotel company by revenue, has appointed Francesco Brunetti as managing director of the group.
Brunetti has gained long-standing experience in the hotel industry, covering prominent managerial roles at hotel chains including Hilton, ITT Sheraton, CIGA and Starwood, overseeing the merger of the latter with Marriott International.
Among his positions held, Brunetti is also a member of the board of directors of Fondazione Fiera Milano and of the General Council of Federturismo Confindustria; he is deputy of the Italian Chapter of E.H.M.A. (European Hotel Managers Association), as well as past president of the Assolombarda Tourism Group and Confindustria Lombardia Turismo

The Starhotels collection of 30 luxury hotels in Italy, London, Paris and New York comprises more than 4,200 rooms.
