Thompson Central Park makes senior appointments

US: Matt Slippoy has been named general manager and Amanda Reed as director of sales and marketing at the Thompson Central Park New York.

The appointments come as the hotel opened on 1 November 2021. It will launch with 352 newly-designed rooms by Stonehill Taylor and public spaces by Thomas Juul-Hansen. 

Slippoy joins the team with 20 years of experience, having previously overseen the opening of Gramercy Park Hotel. He most recently served as general manager of Westminster Hotel.

Speaking about his appointment, Slippoy said: “Thompson Central Park New York brings the Thompson Hotels brand’s award-winning hospitality to Midtown New York, offering hotel guests an elevated, contemporary luxury experience in a landmark hotel. I look forward to welcoming travellers to the heart of Manhattan, and most notably, leading our talented team in creating unforgettable experiences and cherished memories for our hotel guests.”

Reed has previously held executive positions with Viceroy Hotel Group and Morgans Hotel Group. She’s been part of the Parker New York hotel team since 2019.

The grand opening of Thompson Central Park New York, in spring 2022, will see the arrival of additional dining venues and a total of 587 guest rooms and suites.
