UK: Five-star independent hotel The Torridon, located in the Scottish Highlands, has promoted two staff members to its leadership team.

Ross Aitchison has been appointed as general manager after 10 years at the property.

Prior to joining The Torridon in 2013, he previously held operational roles at Lucknam Park and Bath Priory Hotel.

Allan Paterson, the hotel’s marketing manager, has also been promoted to commercial manager. He will be responsible for overseeing marketing, revenue, sustainability, and business development and growth.

Paterson originally joined The Torridon as a graduate trainee in marketing. He returned in 2022 to take over the marketing function.

Dan Rose-Bristow, owner of The Torridon, said: “Allan and Ross are both extremely deserving of these promotions, and we are looking forward to moving into the next period of growth for our resort with a strong leadership team in place. This is an exciting time for The Torridon, cementing the resort as one of Britain’s leading retreats – both to visit and work.”

The Torridon comprises a hotel, The Stables, and private cottage The Boat House, totalling 32 bedrooms. Amenities include four F&B venues: The 1887 Restaurant, Bo & Mac Brasserie, The Whisky Bar, and The Beinn Bar, as well as private event spaces and an in-house team for curating outdoor activities.
