Portugal: Hotel and resort Viceroy at Ombria Algarve has appointed Daniel Ozzán as its new general manager.
Daniel brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience to the role, with a background spanning finance, operations and development across Europe and Latin America.
He has previously held senior positions at IHG as area director of finance for the UK, Spain and Portugal, and head of finance for Latin America.
His career has also included roles with Marriott, including Director of Development for Latin America and General Manager at Marriott Buenos Aires. Most recently, he served as General Manager of Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Peru.
Originally from Buenos Aires, Ozzán has now relocated to Portugal with his family. At Viceroy at Ombria Algarve, he will oversee all resort operations, maintaining the brand’s service standards while strengthening its connection to the local community and landscape.
Ozzán said: “I am honoured to join the Viceroy at Ombria Algarve during such an exciting chapter. The resort’s commitment to the local culture and natural surroundings sets it apart, and I look forward to building on its success while bringing fresh ideas to the guest experience.”
Viceroy at Ombria Algarve opened in late 2024 and is located 30 minutes from Faro Airport.
The resort features six restaurants and bars, a spa, and cultural guest experiences such as pottery workshops, apiary tours, and vineyard visits.
Sustainability initiatives include river habitat restoration, solar and geothermal energy use, and the planting of 700 oak trees.
