The Lake House on Canandaigua launches chef in residence program

US: Acclaimed chefs are invited to take over the kitchen of Rose Tavern, the hotel’s signature restaurant, to highlight local dining establishments on-site.

AVVINO, a contemporary American restaurant in Rochester, New York, will host the inaugural residence from March 21-27. The business serves high-end comfort cuisine with Italian and French inspiration.

At the Rose Tavern, the menu will include tamarind glazed half chicken, smoked short rib, and a whole lobster grilled over post oak embers. 

Rose Tavern first opened in October 2020, designed by Post Company (formerly Studio Tack) in collaboration with The Brooklyn Home Company. It features an open kitchen with a wood-fired hearth.

Both AVVINO and Rose Tavern source ingredients locally, and Rose Tavern will continue to partner with other F&B providers in the area.

The Lake House on Canandaigua is a family owned and operated hotel. It offers 124 guest rooms and suites, a pool and year-round hot tub, a wellness centre, and event spaces.

The property is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts L.V.X. Collection.
