UK: Tim Rumney has been appointed CEO of BWH Hotel Group GB, which incorporates Best Western Great Britain and WorldHotels Great Britain.
Rumney has saved as interim CEO since August this year, and has sat as chairman of the BWH Hotel Group board of directors for four years.
He has operated three hotels in Best Western brands for more than 20 years. These include The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal and The Best Western Plus Pinewood Hotel in Wilmslow.
Prior to this, Rumney has held senior positions with Forte Hotels in London and the region.
Speaking about his appointment, Rumney said: “I am thrilled to take on the position of CEO full time at BWH Hotel Group GB, in a time of great challenge and great opportunity for the hospitality industry. Working in hospitality and running a hospitality business is a difficult and challenging, but supremely rewarding career choice. As CEO I will take all the lessons I have learned in my career forward to fight our corner, and ensure our collective voice is heard.
“We have a fantastic team in BWH Hotel Group GB and our purchasing organisation Beacon and I look forward to working with our hotel members and other stakeholders in driving and developing the business as we recover from the impact of the pandemic.”
BWH Hotel Group GB has a collection of more than 290 independent hotels with 18 brands in the portfolio.
