Worldwide: General Hotel Management (GHM) has promoted Clement Koh to a newly created role as executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Koh will oversee GHM’s expansion of properties as well as brand development campaigns and new commercial initiatives.

He brings over three decades of luxury hospitality management to the role, including senior leadership positions at Mandarin Oriental Group in Hong Kong and Minor International in Thailand. Prior to his promotion, Koh served as GHM’s vice president of sales and marketing.

So far, under Koh’s leadership, two GHM properties in the UAE and Oman – The Chedi AI Bait, Sharjah and The Chedi Muscat – have won placements on a Condé Nast Traveler list of the top hotels in Middle East.

Set to launch in time for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, GHM will unveil The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort in Doha, Qatar in the second half of next year. Currently, there are eight new properties in the pipeline, and a new lifestyle brand set to debut next year.

GHM develops and operates luxury hotels and resorts. Its portfolio includes The Chedi AI Bait, Sharjah, UAE; The Chedi Muscat, Oman; The Chedi Andermatt, Switzerland; and The Chedi Hotel and Residences Luštica Bay, Montenegro.

Recently, the group signed a property in Egypt in collaboration with Orascom Hotel Management.
