EU: Cycas has appointed its fourth VP of operations along with two general managers of lifestyle properties in London and Rotterdam.
Donovan Sumner has been named vice president of operations and will oversee the 11-hotel addition to the Cycas portfolio, following the group’s recent partnership with InterGlobe Enterprises.
He brings over 18 years of hotel management experience across a wide range of brands, accommodation styles and countries, and previously worked for Belvar where he was responsible for all UK Moxy hotels.
Sumner joins from Hotel Co 51, where he served as regional operations director. Here, Sumner oversaw the management of 14 hotels across the UK, Italy and Norway.
In Rotterdam, Nicolette Korstanje has joined Cycas as the team prepares for the European debut of the Motto by Hilton brand this September. Motto Rotterdam Blaak marks the first property in the Dutch city for Cycas.
With 12 years of operational and commercial experience, Korstanje previously spent two and a half years as general manager of the Urban Residences in Rotterdam.
The appointments follow news that Zac Pearse has joined Cycas as general manager of the London Bankside Hotel, a 161-room five-star property which forms part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Cycas took over management of the property in June.
Pearse brings 19 years of hospitality expertise to the role, having managed Malmaison’s flagship property – Charterhouse Square, London – and, most recently, working as area manager for Criterion Hospitality.
