US: Markus Treppenhaeur has been named as the general manager of Fairmont’s flagship property in San Francisco.

Treppenhaeur joined Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 2007, as director of operations at Fairmont Orchid, Kohala Coast, Hawaii. Following, he was promoted to hotel manager at Fairmont Banff Springs, Alberta, Canada, and accepted his first general manager role in 2012, at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in the same area.

Fairmont San Francisco reopened its doors Thursday 17 September. Its Laurel Court Restaurant & Bar will be open for grab and go only, whereas The Tonga Room and Live Fit Gym remain closed until further notice.

Fairmont has a global portfolio of more than 80 hotels, and is part of Accor.
