US: Hotel Washington has added a general manager, a director of outlets, and restaurant and lounge manager to its senior team.

Maher Jallad brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the role, having previously worked with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and HEI Hotels & Resorts. In his new position, he will oversee management of the 326-room property including guest services, catering and events, F&B and the spa.

Speaking about his appointment, Jallad said: “It is an honour to join Hotel Washington and to be a part of the future of this iconic DC hotel. I look forward to welcoming guests and to exceeding their expectations at every turn, delivering a high-touch level of service and a luxury experience.”

Jean-Paul Moussa, Hotel Washington’s director of outlets, joins from Social Restaurant Group. He will oversee the operations of the hotel’s rooftop bar and lounge VUE, along with the lobby bar and restaurant.

Moussa will work closely with Christopher Bassett, VUE’s new general manager. 

Hotel Washington, located close to the White House, underwent a renovation in 2019. It has hosted celebrities including Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe, along with many vice presidents.

Rooms at the hotel come in a variety of different sizes, sleeping a maximum of four, and also includes four suites. In addition to the dining venues and spa, other hotel facilities comprise five meeting rooms.
