Marriott appoints first female GM in Saudi

Marina Krasnobrizhaya

Saudi Arabia: Marina Krasnobrizhaya has been named general manager of The St. Regis Riyadh, joining from The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel by Marriott in London.

Krasnobrizhaya brings nearly 17 years of international experience to the role, having held senior roles at The Ritz-Carlton in Moscow and Hotel Arts Barcelona.

Her appointment marks the first female general manager role for Marriott in Saudi Arabia, and she is also the country’s first woman to lead a luxury hotel.

Speaking about her appointment, Krasnobrizhaya said: “I am delighted to take on this new role and look forward to working with the team to deliver an uncompromising level of bespoke service and exquisite experiences in the city’s best address.”

Ahmed Hozaien, area VP of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt for Marriott International, said: “Marina brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we are delighted to have her join The St. Regis Riyadh. Marina’s appointment adds valuable leadership to the property, and highlights Marriott International’s commitment to championing the advancement of women in executive positions.

Marriott’s Saudi edition of Tahseen, a leadership fast-track programme, recorded 50 candidates in 2021 – nearly 50 per cent of whom were women. This marked the highest enrolment of woman in the programmes since its launch in 2018.

Overall, the programme has had over 100 graduates and the majority are now employed at Marriott International properties across the Kingdom in a variety of roles.

Marriott plans to launch the fourth edition of Tahseen in Saudi Arabia this year.
