Maldives: Sofija Misljenovic has been named as director of wellbeing for the debut property under Patina Hotels & Resorts, the latest lifestyle brand from Capella Hotel Group.
Misljenovic brings almost 15 years of experience in the wellness industry to the role, having previously worked as manager at Cove Club Finolhu Maldives, Park Hyatt and Villas Abu Dhabi, Kempinski Seychelles Resort and most recently, director of spa at JW Marriott Maldives Resort and Spa.
She began her career in the wellness field as a spa therapist at Kuramathi Resort & Spa in the Maldives.
In her new role, Misljenovic will lead a team of wellness professionals combining ancient and modern techniques at the hotel’s spa, Flow.
Speaking about her appointment, Misljenovic said: “At Flow, our philosophy centres around balance and self-discovery; as they work with each guest, our therapists will tune into the individual needs and apply a bespoke blend of techniques to unearth the body’s own source of wellbeing. We encourage our guests to slow down the pace of their lifestyle, reconnect with nature, and ultimately strive for a balanced lifestyle in order to become happier and healthier.”
Flow will offer flotation tanks and facilities to accommodate Watsu therapy – a form of hydrotherapy that combines traditional Japanese Shiatsu massage techniques with the benefits of immersing in warm water.
