Thompson Dallas appoints GM

Aaron Ide

US: Aaron Ide has been named as general manager of the 219-room Thompson Dallas, the first Thompson branded hotel in Texas.

Ide brings over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality to the role having worked in various positions during this time. 

His career began at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City and later joined Four Seasons where he spent 12 years working across multiple locations in the US. 

Thompson Dallas is located in the First National Bank building, known as The National, in downtown Dallas. It has been developed by Todd Interests and restored and renovated by Anderson Merriman Architects and Todd Interiors. 

The property offers four dining venues, a 16,000 square-foot ballroom, a swimming pool with nearly two acres of outdoor space, a spa and two penthouse suites.

Speaking about his appointment, Ide said: “I am excited to join the Thompson family and to be a part of The National and this incredible project. It’s an honour to work alongside a talented team to create an enhanced experience that allows guests and locals to create memories in a world-class environment. I look forward to elevating the unique personality of Thompson Dallas by highlighting the art, culture, and design as a part of our guests’ experience.”

Philip Todd, managing general partner, owner and developer of the $460 million renovation of The National, said: “We are fortunate to have Aaron join the team at Thompson Dallas. Aaron’s distinctive luxury background, clear vision and impressive leadership skills will play a vital role in the success of Thompson Dallas.”
