IHG appoints MD UK and Ireland

Joanna Kurowska

UK: IHG Hotels & Resorts has named Joanna Kurowska as the managing director of UK and Ireland.

Kurowska, promoted from her recent role in Frankfurt as director of operations for Northern Europe, has gained 10 years of experience working under IHG. She began at InterContinental Warsaw as director of finance and business support before moving on to a number of finance and operational roles across Europe.

She also sits on IHG’s diversity, equity and inclusion board. The council is made up of colleagues from across the region.

Speaking about her appointment, Kurowska said: “I am honoured to take on this role at such an important time for the UK and Ireland. This is a strong established market for IHG Hotels & Resorts with incredible growth potential, that I’m excited to drive forward. I’m looking forward to working with the excellent team we have in the UK and Ireland to deliver true hospitality for our guests and robust performance for our owners.”

As of 30 June 2021, IHG currently has 358 hotels operating under eight brands in the UK and Ireland. These include InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, voco Hotels and more.
