Viceroy Sugar Beach appoints MD

James Wyndham

Caribbean: Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort has appointed James Wyndham as its managing director.

Following a recent refurbishment of the property including the addition of nine keys, Wyndham joins the property from The Island House in The Bahamas, where he most recently served as general manager.

Previous roles include VP of guest relations at Atlantis, The Palm, general manager at Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley, along with various other positions within Jumeirah Group, Four Seasons, Accor and Ritz-Carlton.

Regional vice president of operations for Viceroy Group, Mark Griffiths, said: “We are delighted to bring James Wyndham on board to helm a new chapter for our iconic Resort. Wyndham’s dynamic industry experience and leadership is unmatched. His track record in creating authentic and memorable experiences will only elevate the Sugar Beach product, and further propel the property as one of the world’s leading luxury beach resorts.”

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort, features private accommodations each with its own butler and plunge pool. Amenities at the resort include a Tata Harper spa, several restaurants and bars, and a brand new fitness and activity centre.

The property reopened in November 2021 after a five-month renovation.

Located on Sugar Beach in Saint Lucia, the resort is part of The Viceroy Inn Collection. Upcoming properties within the collection include Viceroy at Ombria Resort Algarve and Viceroy Bocas Del Toro, both slated for a late 2023 opening.
